Thermal insulation with EUROPIR® panels – How to protect your home from winter and reduce heating costs.

Insulating a building before winter is a crucial step in ensuring thermal comfort, reducing heating costs and extending the life of the structure.

One of the best thermal insulation solutions is the use of EUROPIR® boards in the ETICS system, also known as the light-wet method or BSO – a jointless insulation system.

Thermal insulation is a key measure for improving the energy efficiency of buildings. It involves insulating building partitions such as walls, roofs and foundations in order to reduce heat loss. EUROPIR® thermal insulation boards, made of polyisocyanurate foam (PIR), are one of the most effective solutions available on the market. They are characterised by excellent insulating properties, durability and low water absorption, which makes them ideal for use in ETICS systems. Read more PIR board in the ETICS system – EUROPIR

The benefits of thermal insulation – why is it worth it?

Energy and money savings

Insulating a building with EUROPIR® panels can reduce heating costs by up to 30-40%. Thanks to their low thermal conductivity coefficient (λ = 0.023–0.025 W/m*K), the panels effectively reduce heat loss. As a result, even in the face of rising energy prices, a well-insulated house generates noticeable savings on bills. EUROPIR® panels allow for high thermal efficiency with less thickness, which further reduces heat loss and increases savings.

Better thermal comfort

Thermal insulation is not only a matter of cost, but above all of living comfort. In winter, well-insulated walls are more pleasant to the touch – the absence of a cold feeling near the walls makes the rooms more cosy. In practice, a stable temperature inside the house also reduces the risk of draughts and cold spots. In summer, EUROPIR® panels protect against excessive heating of rooms, which means that on hot days the interior of the building remains cooler, reducing the need for air conditioning.

Protecting the building against moisture

One of the main enemies of insulation materials is moisture, which effectively and permanently reduces the thermal insulation properties of many materials. More importantly, the susceptibility of insulation material to moisture causes damage, e.g. rotting, mould growth and permanent loss of insulation parameters. EUROPIR® boards are characterised by very low water absorption, which makes them an excellent, durable and, importantly, mould and microorganism-resistant insulation for building facades.

Increased property value

Houses with modern insulation are more attractive to potential buyers. Effective thermal insulation means lower building maintenance costs and greater comfort of living. Buyers are increasingly looking for energy-efficient properties, as a well-insulated house generates lower energy bills and is more environmentally friendly. In the long term, investing in EUROPIR® insulation not only pays for itself in the form of lower operating costs, but also increases the value of the property on the market.

Durability and resistance of the material

EUROPIR® panels are highly resistant to mechanical damage and weather conditions. The PIR material from which they are made does not promote the growth of mould or fungi, which ensures long-term protection of the building. In addition, polyurethanes are materials that are unattractive to insects and rodents. By using EUROPIR® ETICS insulation, we protect the building both against heat loss and the appearance of unwanted tenants such as insects, mice, rats or martens.

Safety for humans and animals

EUROPIR® insulation boards have been certified by Eurofins Institutions and have received the highest A+ rating for their impact on air quality.

Lower environmental impact

The use of EUROPIR® boards for building insulation also has environmental benefits. Effective insulation reduces energy consumption, which in turn reduces carbon dioxide emissions. The durability of the material means that the insulation retains its properties for many years, which reduces the frequency of replacement and reduces the amount of construction waste.

Subsidies under the "Clean Air" programme

Thermal insulation with EUROPIR® panels is eligible for funding under the government's "Clean Air" programme. This programme offers support for work related to improving the energy efficiency of buildings, covering not only insulation, but also the modernisation of heat sources and the installation of heat recovery ventilation systems. In addition, investors can take advantage of a thermal modernisation allowance, which allows them to deduct up to PLN 53,000 from their income for expenses related to thermal modernisation works.

Thermal insulation with EUROPIR® panels is an investment that brings multidimensional benefits – from a significant reduction in heating costs, through improved thermal comfort, to protecting the building against moisture and increasing its market value. Thanks to modern materials such as EUROPIR® panels, thermal insulation is becoming easier and more effective, and financial support from the "Clean Air" programme makes it accessible to a wide range of investors.
